Bereavement Policy
When the Church is contacted about a death, the Church office will then contact the CP Women's Ministry Circle who has duties that month.
The Circle will decide whether to do a Memorial, Food Tray, or Card based no the relationship of the deceased to the Church Member.
Immediate family members will be remembered by a Memorial or Food Tray. This would include the following: Spouse, Parents, Siblings, Children, Mother-In-Law, Father-In-Law, Step Parents, Step Siblings, and Step Children.
In the event of a death of a distant relative, the Circle will send a card from the Cumberland Presbyterian Women's Ministry. Some that would fall in this category would be: Grandparents, Sister-In-Law, Brother-In-Law, Aunt and Uncle.
CPWM suggests that Memorials go to the Benevolent Committee.
