Wedding Policy

A wedding ceremony is a service before God. The following suggestions concerning the church are offered to help you in planning for your wedding.

    1.  This church is a member of Marriage Savers of West Tennessee; therefore, we will require proof of pre-marital counseling that is in line with this program. If you need help in this area, please contact our pastor. If our pastor is performing your ceremony, please make arrangements for an interview as soon as possible by calling the church (285-5703).

    2.  Check with the church office to see that the church calendar is clear for rehearsal and wedding dates.

    3.  The fellowship hall and kitchen are available for your use after 4:00 p.m. on Friday (for a Saturday wedding).

      a.  Glass punch bowl, cups and plates are available. Table cloths are also available but must be laundered and returned to the church by noon on Monday following the wedding.

      b.  It is the responsibility of the wedding party/caterer to arrange the fellowship hall for the reception. This includes breaking down tables, removing chairs, adding chairs, etc. before and after use.

      c.  If your wedding party is to dress at the church, the following rooms are available:
BRIDE - Kindergarten room (first room on right in colored door hallway)
Groom - Lola Summers Bible Class room
Please note: No food or drinks are to be brought into any of these rooms. Please make arrangements to remove all personal belongings immediately after the reception.

    4.  General instructions for the use of the church:

      a.  Church paraments (altar cloths) will be white and are to remain in place during the ceremony.

      b.  All candles must have a covering beneath for protection of the carpet, and only non-drip candles should be used. Candles are not to be used in stained glass windows.

      c.  If flower petals are used during the processional, they must be silk.

      d.  Items must be removed from the sanctuary immediately following the wedding to enable the custodial staff to begin their work.

      e.  If any special arrangements need to be made regarding microphones, please contact the church office at least one (1) week in advance.

      f.  MEMBERS:
Janitorial fee, cost of supplies, etc. - $50 for use of the sanctuary, and an additional fee of $50 if the fellowship hall is used for a reception. ALSO, a suggested fee of $50 for the sound system operator. You are responsible for making arrangements with the sound system operator - either Larry Voss (285-5452) or Brad Sanko (285-9913).
(All fees should be paid to the church one week prior to the wedding.)

      NON-MEMBERS:
Use of Church: $400.00 (including janitoral fee, cost of supplies, and utilities). Plus $50.00 for the sound system operator. You are responsible for making arrangements with the sound system operator - either Larry Voss (285-5452) or Brad Sanko (285-9913). All fees should be paid to the church one week prior to the wedding. The suggested clergy fee is $100.00, to be paid to the clergy.

THE FOLLOWING RULES MUST BE OBSERVED:

    5.  The throwing of rice or bird seed is a tradition at weddings. When either is thrown or spilled on the tile floors of the church, it immediately becomes a hazard. It causes floors to become very slick and could result in broken limbs. It is therefore imperative that all rice or bird seed be maintained and thrown only at the end of the garden area where the couple will depart (bird seed is preferred on church property). It is the responsibility of the wedding party to clean-up the outside garden & parking ares following the wedding.

    6.  The photographer will refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony.

    7.  NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are allowed on the premises.

    8.  NO SMOKING is allowing in any of the buildings.
