What Is LOGOS?
The LOGOS ministry is an interdenominational, dynamic, congregation-based, mid-week ministry of Christian education. It is NOT a substitute for, or replacement of, Sunday school. Rather, it is another unique area of Christian nurture and a strong enhancer to the total ministry of any church.
LOGOS is responsive to the felt needs of our time: the need for authentic, caring and nurturing relationships in a safe place. It also provides an opportunity to explore one's purpose in a Christian environment. The pastor and other Christian leaders can become friends as well as teachers.
Not only does LOGOS meet the needs of youth, the program is a valuable tool for family involvement and renewal, as parents and other members of the church are drawn into active participation. We all become youth ministers!
The Ministry
The "Alpha" LOGOS Ministry combines four parts to create the structure in which the "theology and practice of Christian relationships" can happen. These four parts are Bible Study, Worship Skills/Choir, Activities and Dinner/Family Time.
Bible Study
The Bible study is the "Heart" of the Logos Ministry. Each class is designed for Biblecal and theological coherence and thematic integrity. All classes are rooted in one or more biblical passages.

Worship Skills
Choir is preparation for and participation in the worship life of the congregation. Logos members are strongly encouraged to be present at worship when their choir is scheduled to lead in worship. Children from other churches are expected to worship with their families in their churches EXCIPT on those Sundays when their Logos Choir leads in worship.
Little Lights' Choir (Kindergarten) God's Kids' Choir (grades 1-3)
Proclaimers' Choir (grades 4-6)
First and foremost, both worship skills classes will be singing in church approximately once per semester. Basic music skills will also be taught in choir/worship classes, so that each child is able to offer his/her best to God as we prepare to lead in worship. There will also be a special musical presented by each choir once a year. It is important that each child make these special musical events a priority in their schedules because of the "team effort" this is required to make this gift to God.
Play Time
The young people are taught to "play" respecting the worth, dignity, and preciousness of each other and themsleves.
Family Time
This time is used to celebrate the worth and preciousness of all. Each person will practice treating each other as a Child of God, to experience the joy of the Community of Christ. In this shared meal, we experience the reality of the "Kingdom of God", friendships, and relationships. Manners, courtesy, and graciousness to others, are emphasized.
Each table has a "Table Parent" who shares the semester with "their" young people as a "family." Table Parents serve as host, friend, teacher, game leader, and disciplinarian.
